What is a Bullet Journal?
You have probably seen bullet journals a lot recently. I have seen them everywhere from Instagram, to Pinterest, to Blogs. So basically, they are everywhere. But, when I first saw them, I was confused. What is the point of a Bullet Journal? I mean, everyone does something totally different with them. So I started to do some research. I watched a bunch of different YouTube videos, read different blogs, and researched about the actual book. And as soon as I understood what a Bullet Journal was, I knew I had to start.
What is a Bullet Journal?
A Bullet Journal is basically a personalized planner. When you buy a planner from the store, usually you run out of room trying to write everything down. And the planner is never in the layout the way you want it to be. So with a bullet journal, you make the planner. You can doodle in the corner of the page, or give yourself a page per day if you want. Everything is perfect for YOU!
The Book
A bullet journal book can be basically any book. It can be a blank composition notebook or you can get a notebook made for bullet journaling. Those notebooks have a dotted grid on them so you can write and draw straight without noticing the dots when you are done. They can be up to anything from ten to thirty dollars.
The Layout
Okay, there's a little more to a bullet journal than that. At the begging of a bullet journal, you have an index. Then you can find what you are looking for easily.
Then there are collections. Collections are usually at the beginning of the bullet journal. They can be anything from movies you want to watch, to quotes you love. Each collection normally has one page. Then you can add a little doodle to make it cute, like popcorn for a movies collection.
Next, are the monthlies. This is where you kind of have an overview of each month. You can put all the appointments you have for that month or any important things. You can also have some collections with the monthlies. For example, you could have a gratitude collection with your monthlies. Then each month you write down things you are grateful for every day, or every week.
After the monthlies, there are weeklies and daylies. Here is where you have more of the traditional part of a planner. You can have an overview of each week or you can get right into the daylies. Daylies are where you separate each of the days out. Then you can write down things like your To Do List or what homework you have that day.
Hopefully, this helped you understand bullet journals a little more than you did before. Before you know it, you might be starting one yourself.
